Saturday morning we left Mackinac City and traveled across Northern Michigan to get to Sleeping Bear Dunes. We stopped in Traverse City for lunch at Apple Bees. It had been a rainy dark day but began to clear about mid afternoon. After deciding to go for it over lunch, we drove 30 minutes to the dunes. It was totally worth it. It ended up being a great day to take in the dunes. The kids would have enjoyed the water had it been warmer, but it was too choppy for me to feel safe about sending them in. It worked out perfect!
