Our Trip to Mackinac

We took the ferry over to enjoy a beautiful Friday on Mackinac Island. It was so lovely. The kids were great and we made some wonderful memories. Here are pictures of some of our fondest remembrances! I will note, that I figured I would have oodles of time on my hands after finishing my thesis....somehow....that is NOT the case. :) We welcomed the newest member of our family, Ryan and Carrie have a beautiful big baby boy-Logan Randall. We are so excited to go to MN to meet him one week from today. Can you say PACK-ING??? Look out MN--here we come! But first a few picts of our early vacation. Christian was the least apprehensive about the ferry ride. Ella and Carter decided they didn't like riding on the top...at first. They changed their minds and we ended up making the trip up and down a couple of times.

While we were soaking up the beautiful weather all stretched on the Fort's lawn ,Carter chased seagulls. He was in heaven. Wide open spaces and LOTS of birds.

We walked our way to Mission Point were Scott and I reminisced about the wedding I was in just 6 short years ago! It was magical. hard to believe I was 8 months pregnant at the time. Ahhh the memories. So glad we could come to make more memories with our growing family. Ella had a blast flying her kite here on the point. However, the wind was a bit stronger than she anticipated and swooped the kite right out of her hand. She ran after it panting and squealing...luckily a fine young man saved it just before it hit the chilly waters of Lake Huron. After all the excitement we needed some ice cream. Christian was in heaven getting a taste from everyone. Carter fell asleep in the stroller and managed a half hour nap.

Ella had such a big cone, a man walking by asked if he could have some and she was pleased to share...but not really!
