Soccer filled Saturdays

Our Saturday mornings are spent at the soccer field. We love to be out there cheering on Ella and Carter. We are really impressed with how they are working better as a team and progressing in their skills.
Last weekend, Ella and Carter each scored a goal and Ella had one assist.

Ella's 2nd Day and Carter's first full day

I am still playing catch up as far as beginning of the year pictures go! Here are some pictures from the first week of the 2011 school year.

Carter is in Mrs. Rowley's Kindergarten class and Ella is in Mrs. Doyle's 2nd grade
While Christian and I were at the grocery store the other day, a nice lady in line asked "how old are you little man?" His reply, "I'm nine and I go to school." I think someone is feeling left out from the school scene?!! Little turkey.

Everyone is fueling up for a hard day's work. After school we celebrated with ice cream! It was beautiful weather for the start of the year. Not too hot, not too cold and nice and sunny!

SO many choices of ice cream!

Carter's Kdg. Orientation

Carter and his buddy Corbin
Checking out the bus...a little bummed that he won't need to ride it!
His wonderful teacher Mrs. Rowley reading aloud to part of the class.
Hard at work!
Still working on his goldfish graph!
Daddy and Carter had a fun time at orientation! He was so excited for his REAL first day!

I am a little behind on pictures for our family. We are well into the 2nd week of school and the adjustment is going fairly well. The kids love their classmates and teachers. The time at school flies by. THe pictures in this post are from Carter's orientation day. It was the 2nd day of school for me, so Scott had the lucky priviledge of taking him in for his 1 1/2 hours. They met their teacher, saw the classroom, did a little activity and heard a story. The parents went in and met with the teacher and principal. It was an exciting day! Carter has since been to school 3 full days. He attends Monday, Wednesday, and every other Friday. He loves it. It is an adjustment for him to be in a structured setting for the entire day. He has lunch there...and he is starving. Everyday the lunch bag has been completely empty and I've been packing it pretty full! Growing kids, I guess! He openly shares that he has had a few time outs. Yeesh, as a mom and a kindergarten teacher myself, that is hard to swallow. :)We will keep working on it. He is learning the expectations that's for sure! I will post more pics to come. We have been juggling pics on Scott's new phone plus the camera. I just need to catch up!

We are off!

It's hard to believe but we are back at our "School Gig"! While it's always sad to say goodbye to summer, it is refreshing to have a routine to our days. We are all excited for a great year in 2011!
The Moorlag Household boasts a whooping Three attendees: Mom: Kindergarten {again}, Ella: Second grade, and Carter Kindergarten! We could NOT be more thrilled. Pictures to follow. I found this cute picture and had to use it! My brain is back in "school" mode no more trashy magazines for this momma ....for awhile anyway! Toodles!

Kettle Lake Open House

Open House
Introducing the kindergartener and 2nd grader from our house!
It's been a busy week at our house this week. I spent Tuesday- Thursday at school getting ready for another exciting school year. On Wednesday we had Open House at Kettle Lake for Ella and Carter. They had a chance to see their classrooms and meet their new teachers. Carter is thrilled to have Mrs. Rowley as his kindergarten teacher. He will attend all day Monday, Wednesday, and alternate Fridays. He is looking forward to learning lots. He has many friends from preschool in his room this year!
Ella is headed off to 2nd grade with Mrs. Doyle. Her classroom has a frog theme! Which tickled the boys. She also has many friends in her class. It is hard to believe she's already in 2nd grade. Wasn't I just dropping her off at preschool? Yikes!

Soccer Season Begins

Ella and Carter both started their soccer seasons this week. They had beautiful nights for practice. It is hard to believe Ella turned 8 this week! Look at those long legs though! She sure is growing up right before our eyes. We look forward to enjoying a fun filled season!

Here are some action shots
The team and coaches
Practice happened to land right on her birthday so her VERY SWEET coach made cupcakes and had the girls sing to her! {So thoughtful!}
Teammate Megan
Carter has practices on Thursdays. He has a smaller team for scrimmaging and age group.
Look at our little man!
He takes his practice very SERIOUS

Looking so grown up
Ready to SCORE!
We will be spending our Saturdays rooting for the orange (Carter) and teal (Ella) teams on the Caledonia soccer fields. Go Scots!
