Art Prize 1st Installment

If I don't start someplace I won't get very far with fall pictures. So here goes....
Sunday after church we bundled up a bit and headed downtown G.R. to take in some of the awesome sights of ArtPrize 2012! It was a fun afternoon of hanging out as a family, taking in the fun downtown event!

Inside the JW Marriot we LOVED the mermaid.
 A big motorcycle
some cool wood sculptures that the kids could play with
on the mounds with native american animals
A family favorite...The Penguin Project that was put in the fountain at the GRFord Museum

 A look across the river
some silly circus art

We were impressed by this metal dragon as well!
We can't wait to take in more of the exhibits later this week! This is such a cool thing to have in our own city!

Labor Day Chill Out

Usually Labor Day is a busy holiday for us. We try to squeeze those last few beautiful days in at the lake and we did that on Friday. But the actual Monday before school started, we spend around home. For those who aren't in the teacher profession, the Night-before-the first-day...is anything but relaxing. I spent "some hours" at school and Scott and the kids went to a park by our house to enjoy the beautiful weather. They had so much fun exploring the Thornapple River that we went back after I got home. The kids had fun exploring the rocks and river while Scott and I sat back and enjoyed...that was until Scott went in. Then lost his flip flop. Then decided to attempt a rescue and recover. then sliced his foot open....ending our nice day at the river. {We went home, ate, put the kids to bed then he headed to the Urgent Care for a tetnus shot. Urgent Care closed while he was pulling into the parking lot. lovely. So he went to Walgreens for a shot!} Nice end to summer.

 popsicles on the deck
Of course Carter went in!

Wisconsin Memories

Fun in the water

We celebrated a few birthdays while we were there. Summer birthdays..hurray!
We made special beach- bear cupcakes.
And had a few presents to open!

Some of the kids looked a little silly in their party hats!
It was an awesome vacation filled with memories. We look forward to our next adventure together.

WI-Part Two

The grounds were breathtaking so we took a few walks.
Call us brave, silly, or just determined but we hired a photographer to come to the resort and attempt to get a few pictures of our growing crew. She came, she snapped and we are happy to report that she even got a few good shots. Here are a few pictures we took (totally unrehearsed and not professional but purely fun!)
 Christian and Josie
Logan and Ryan... 2 year old little boys do.not.like staged photos! (LOL)
 The hearding of the bunch!
My angel boys...look at them LOVE each other...yes, it is ALWAYS like this ;)
Teaching the lil cousin how to fist bump!
 Playing in the water...kinda!
 Elle & Lil'

 Our fam
Lunch & watermelon on the patio
 Check out our view. WOW!
 Mornings {they were early and never lacking in food!}
 Chats and cheers
Even though it was a crew to feed, we never left hungry!
We had fun walking and exploring the marina.
 Trouble......
A walk around shows just how breathtaking it was

Scott and the kids went to see the fishermen come in and clean their catch. Carter was highly impressed & Elle was slightly grossed out!

Lots of memories were made in the sand. Uncle Ryan was such a sport.
The dads took the kids out to the sand bar.
