Ella's 2nd grade Christmas Concert

On December 6, Ella and the other 1st and 2nd graders from Kettle Lake put on their Christmas Concert. It was an evening filled with art work and singing. They did such a great job. We are constantly impressed with the commitment KL has to the arts. Ella and Carter LOVE the singing, art lessons, and weekly Spanish lessons they receive as a core part of their education. It is amazing how they incorporate it all into the performance. Ella and her friends Sophia and Lindy on stage prior to the concert.
The first and second graders
Of course our little man had to get on the stage too. What a ham!
Some of Ella's classmates in the waiting room
Some of the boys
Evan and Carter waiting patiently--Angry Birds is such good entertainment!
We found Ella's poinsettia art work that decorated the stage
As part of the production, students writing samples were shown on the screen. They had written about some of their family traditions! what a sweet touch.
Singing their little hearts out!
Tears in all our eyes, singing Believe from Polar Express to candle light

Holiday Fun

Every year, I feel like December goes TOO fast. I feel like we enjoy Thanksgiving and everything after that is a "mad dash" to catch up! I think it will be a resolution of mine to enjoy more moments and stress less {easy to say with the holidays behind me, right?}. Here are some pictures from the Blackmer Family Christmas. We enjoyed seeing some of the cousins and catching up on all the events that have happened over the past year. We welcomed baby Chase Bendele and are celebrating two engagements! {Aunt Sonja's and Kylee and Zach's!}
After celebrating with the Blackmer's we decided our house needed a few decorations. Since there was NO sign of snow, we had to get ourself into the spirit with lights, ornaments, and greenery!
So much help putting up the big tree!
THis picture is out of place. This is Carter and Jake. Jake was the ring bearer in our wedding. How did he grow up SO fast??

The boys had fun setting up the nativity.
I think one of there favorite parts is to unpack the books and play with the Fisher-Price navitity Grandma Moorlag gave us a few years ago.
After all that hard work, we needed a snack. We baked up some blueberry muffins and enjoyed them with a little Christmas music. Still the favorite song in our house this year......Feliz Navidad!
