Mackinac Island Part Two

We love to play on the beach, no matter where we are. The waves were picturesque and the kids love to throw rocks...which turned out to be perfect that the beach was rocky instead of sand.
Ahhh... a happy shot of the two older kiddos.

Having fun on the shores of Lake Huron.

This is us boarding the infamous carriage ride (yep, the one, we'd all like to forget). We slightly underestimated what the tour included. Christian Had a 40 minute-non-stop-scream-his-head-off fit. I swear everyone on the tour wished we'd have gotten off on the backside of the island, never to be heard of again. HOnestly! Bad parenting choice.
Here was a stop at Arch Rock.... Scott was sitting statue-like on the carriage hoping Christian would stay sleeping.
Looking over the lake from this angle, it looked like someplace tropical. It was breathtaking. However, we were READY for the tour to be OVER!

Arch Rock--very cool

Carter over looking the cliff of Arch Rock.

Playing on the picket fence of the Govenor's manision. A beautiful lookout, washed out from the glorious sunshine.

Headed down the hill, back to town.
Waiting for the ferry to take us home!
We must admit, traveling as a family of 5...plus to grandparents is EXTERMELEY fun and adventurous....almost looks like we are riding a roller coaster huh?? It is just our trip home on the ferry! But it captures the thrill of some of our "moments"! Looking forward to many more family vacations ahead of us.
