Sleeping Bear Dunes Part Two

Here we are enjoying the Sleeping Bear Dunes between Glen Arbor and Empire. The weather was rainy in the morning but by the time we arrived it was a little overcast and pleasant. We surely would have called it quits had it been 90 while we were trying to climb these dunes. Scott and Christian on the way up.
Ella LOVING the fun of running up the "mountains of sand"

Stopping for a rest and enjoying the beautiful view

The biggest sandbox EVER!

The kids and I at the top, overlooking the beautiful lake and surroundings below

Christian having fun running in the sand. He did a few faceplants and had a mouth full of sand, but he recovered quickly! Happy as can be---I'm not strapped in the carseat!

Coming down the big hill! Whew nobody bit it!

Lake Michigan was really rough and looked more like the Atlantic. Carter LOVED it and was mesmerized by it. The para sailers and surfers were really cool to watch.

Frollicking on the beach

Carter and Ella loved collecting rocks. Here was a "perfect one"!

Christian getting his toes tickled in the waves.
