Grand Time at Grand Haven

Ahhh......SUMMER TIME! We are enjoying ALL the spoils of summer here! On Friday afternoon, we convinced Scott to play hookie from work for the last hour of the day. We piled in the van and headed west to Grand Haven. The weather was perfect, the kids delighted, all in all it was a picture perfect evening. The kids enjoyed playing in the water a bit, digging in the sand, watching boats, walking on the pier, and of course, chowing on some ice cream. It ended up being a late night (10:30 before the kids hit their pillows) but hey for once, the kiddos slept in! Here are some pictures of our fun. We feel so fortunate that this gem of a coastline is just 30 minutes away.

playing in the waves
we've decided this guy will probably prefer the waves of the West Coast versus West MI
All on her own, Ella wrote this in the sand! I will save it for the day when {gasp} she'll put a boys name in there instead of 'God'

This one is called: Carter the human sized "cinnamon and sugar donut" To make: get soaked then roll around in the sand...yumm!

Ella looking equally delcious..a bit more conservatively...just the arms the whole body would be "such a mess"

The sand....need we say more!

Re-dressed and on our walk to the pier
I love the perfect blue sky and grass....and I happen to think the family is pretty good looking as well.

We made it to the light house

Further down the pier, it took us a good long time since the ever so stubborn 2 year old had to push the stroller a good long way.

Oh summer, how we love thee. Stay tuned for more adventures.
