Memorial Day 2011

With the promise of warm weather we headed North for the Memorial Day Weekend! After church on Sunday we cruised to the lake and packed in a day of fun. Monday was glorious....the only downfall was that we had to leave to come home. In a few short days, we will be living in the lap of luxury with time as our friend. School is out this coming Friday and despite the short sadness we will endure to say goodbye to a great year of school, we will muster the energy and anticipation for the adventures that lie ahead for the Summer of 2011! How much difference a year makes. The kids played so contently at the lake with little need for more than the watchful eye. Carter and Christian can get lost for more than an hour in the fishing routine. Ella is exploring and observing everything. Here are a few pictures to document just some of the fun we had!

Our first "Yee-haa!" of the season!

In his element and mesmerized by the waves and wind

No lack of help in the boat driving department.
The fishermen.....

bait their own own, cast, and even take the hook out (if they haven't swallowed it!)
First bass of the season! He caught a total of 5 bass this weekend. (Just between us- I think he caught this same one 3 times but I won't let him know that).

On Sunday we had a little rain, but that didn't stop us from having fun!

After-the-rain-fishing is AWESOME!

We hit the dock by 7:45 on Monday morning and were going strong the whole day. It was a warm one full of fun!

Ready to try out the new tube we got!

They love it....I think we'll be going through a lot more gas this year!

Family Fun time!

...more fishing

If carter doesn't get the worm on the hook....watch out for Captian Hook Christian....he is a worm lover! Where did that come from???

Some things never change, after a long fun day this little boater can still fall asleep cuddling Gram on a leisurely boat ride around the lake!

Many more adventures at the lake to come!

How fun, and what glorious photos! I'm needing a second look to tell the boys apart these days!
