Carter's Class

I am lucky to be able to work in Carter's classroom every couple weeks. However, I haven't been great about posting the pictures to the blog to show all the fun he is having with his friends and teachers. He LOVES school and his enthusiasm is "off the charts!" We met with his teacher for parent teacher conferences and Carter is doing very well. He is reading on his own {which excites us just about as much as it does him!} He is really getting ready for first grade...where did the time go? He does need a few reminders with his impulsiveness and "fun-doings with the other boys in class". But for the most part we couldn't be happier! Here are a few pictures of the fun...Valentine's Day Party {just a little late}.
Ice cream sundaes!
Brothers working together to decorate cookies!
GOod buddies Brooke and Camden
One happy 3 year old who ALSO got a sundae!
Painting ceramic hearts!

A tricky party game...of course Christian had to get in on the fun!

Hallway art projects...from my last couple visits

50's Day- We celebrate the 100th day of school but since they go on alternate days they celebrated the 5oth day! They had to dress up like the 50s Era! I wish I could have gotten a picture of Carter with his teacher...she was in full garb!
They went into the cafeteria for Twisting to the Oldies and to try out Hula Hooping! I was in charge of the Hula Hoop station so I missed the other stations.

February Fun

Where have we been? Yikes! It looks like we have taken the winter off from blogging. I have been on the computer...however it has occasionally been work related and ALOT of Pinteresting. (OhmyworditisSOOOOfun!) Try it....or maybe you shouldn't. It is fun and time consuming but SO.MUCH.Fun!
Here are some of our February Pics;
Fredrick Meijer Gardens Animal Exploration.

Pretending to be baby owls in the desert.
Using our flashlights and binoculars to "find" all the hidden reptiles.
The boys are "frogging" around here! Jumping like frogs.
Ella and the Chinchilla
Christian loved it to

A horned beak owl (I think)
The boys worked on an art project together
We also made some Valentine's Cookies to share with friends and teachers.

As i type this now, we barely have any snow. However back in February we would jump on the sleds the first sign of snow since we never knew how long it would last!

January

January has been weird for us in terms of weather! One day it is 40 degrees and we are out playing in the driveway on our bikes and scooters and then next day....we are home with a snow day! YIKES! It has been fun, for the most part. The last two weeks, we have been battling the stomach flu. Just when we thought we were over it...it HIT again. Scott spent the better part of last week in Florida {unfortunately...he had the stomach flu while he was there!}. The kids and I stayed busy like usual.
On Wednesday nights Ella and Christian are busy taking swimming lessons.

Ella is learning some impressive strokes and flip turns!
Our Saturday mornings are also spent at the gym. Carter is playing basketball. He has good hustle and is learning how to dribble, shoot, and pass. It is pretty fun to see him so excited about this team sport.
One of my students from school is also on the same team so it's fun to see them play together.
Carter has just blossomed as a reader in the last few weeks. He has read two different "chapter" books and is VERY excited! We are so tickled to see him enjoying this life-long skill.

It is snowing like crazy here today so it sounds like we are headed to the hills...to get some sledding in! Coffee and hot chocolate to follow! How is it that February is just around the corner?

Fredrick Meijer Gardens {Cont'd catch up}

We were busy soaking up all the festivitiness of the season prior to Christmas. We hit the FMG Christmas Around the World. There were beautiful trees upon trees. We happened to run into one of the families from school. They have 4 boys almost the exact ages of our kids (minus the baby). We kids had fun exploring together. Ella, Christian, Carter, Corbin, and Camden.

Ella's favorite tree decorated with spiderwebs

A colorful tree- Christian's favorite

I couldn't take my eyes of this little "elf" what a stinker!

So many beautiful trees both inside and OUTside

The train was a huge hit

We would have liked a little snow to go with the lights but it was nice to be outside without freezing.
